Morgan Group presents second half of
million-dollar pledge to Maitland Historical Society
On Wednesday, April 15, The Morgan Group, Inc., developer of The Village at Lake Lily project in Maitland, presented the second half of its $1 million donation to the Maitland Historical Society and Museums (MHS).
The contribution will be used toward the Maitland Historical Society’s vision to
consolidate their locations at Lake Lily Park. The new Maitland Historical Society
campus will be a learning center where visitors can explore the human experience
through the stories of one Central Florida town.
The historic campus will create an entirely new visitor experience
where history will come alive!
The Village at Lake Lily is a mixed-use project that will feature shops, restaurants,
office space, and 455 apartment units adjacent to Lake Lily Park.
From the inception of the project, The Morgan Group pledged to partner with MHS
to ensure the park was preserved and the project would stay true to the Society's vision
for the area during the development and construction phases. The Morgan Group saw
the importance of the Society’s mission, and supported them not only through financial donations, but also with their time and resources. The Morgan Group’s
Development Partner, Jon Wood, serves on the Society’s Honorary Board.
“This project represents the importance of preserving a community’s heritage as it
changes and grows so that future generations can appreciate history, take pride in their community, and learn about commonalities in the human experience,” said the Society’s Executive Director, Andrea Bailey Cox. “We commend The Morgan Group
for their continued commitment to the community, and thank them for their generosity.”
