Tour Guide/Docent Needed
Maitland Historical Society is looking for an enthusiastic individul to give museum tours on a weekly basis and to represent the Society in a professional manner.
The Tour Guide/Docent is also responsible for opening/closing museums and assisting with educational programs and events. The tour guide needs to be available on Sunday afternoons from 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and the first Friday of the month from 4:00-5:30 p.m.; other work is scheduled on a monthly basis.
Other duties include providing light housekeeping maintenance of museums as necessary, assisting with administrative duties as needed, and completing other duties as assigned.
Experience in a museum setting and/or with carpentry is preferred. Other qualifications include, but are not limited to: superior interpersonal communications skills, ability to work with the public in a professional manner, dependability, and punctuality.
